The interventions made during the XXXVII Round Table on the « Conduct of Hostilities: the Practice, the Law and the Future », held in Sanremo from 4 to 6 September, are now available.
The Round Table provided an in-depth analysis of the international law governing the conduct of hostilities and the new challenges which have to be faced in the current international scenario at the operational level.
Participants benefited from the contribution of eminent international experts. Particular attention has been paid to a number of specific issues such as: operational planning and targeting; the protection of civilians; technological developments, including the use of automated and autonomous weapons, in respect of the law covering the conduct of hostilities together with its specificities in different domains (naval, air, outer space and cyber warfare).
